Battlefield Piratesista julkaistiin vielä pari kuvaa näin uuden version julkaisun aattona. Tällä kertaa hait, kranaatinheitin ja päivitetty expack pääsivät valokeiloihin:
Okay, I know my reference to sharks the other day has caused some confusion, so this should clear it up.
For those of you hoping for "drivable" sharks, I'm sorry to say these aren't those. (Although we are still considering them) However, these are still "interactive" in that they are basically moving obstacles. These sharks swim in circles, biting anything in their path like good trained sharks. If you time it just right, you can get through. If not, you become fish food.
Incidentally, you may find it interesting to know that these were originally designed to spawn from sinking galleons just to make your swim to shore a little more "eventfull", but the BF1.6 patch broke that functionality. We're hoping they get this fixed in a future update.

The second thing I'd like to introduce today is the GrenadeMortar.
Currently this is a stationary weapon of limited use, but we have been having so much fun with it that we decided to include it in the release. It's role will probably be expanded in future versions. (I would welcome anyone that wanted to make a map taking advantage of it's particular abilities)
Basically, it acts the same as a real mortar: It lobs a huge shell a short distance with a very high arc. This makes it usefull for use from behind walls and other barriers where the operator is fairly protected. Our version shoots a massively huge grenade with a time-delay fuse, making is usefull for "harassment"-type operations: Lob one at a group of enemy standing about at the bottom of the hill and watch them scatter! The shells also tend to roll a bit, making it fun to try to get "bank shots"

And lastly, I'd like to share with you our updated version of the "Expac". This is the PowderKeg. It works similar to the expac in that it goes boom, but it's different in that it doesn't use a detonator. In our case, the fuse is automatically "lit" when you drop it, and you have 7 seconds in which to get to some place safer. This method makes them a lot more usefull for what they were designed for: demolition. This should also go a long way in eliminating "expacking". If the person you are fighting suddenly drops one of these, just run away. (oh, and did I mention they float?...)
